Hey there!

My name is Jaimi, and I am a mom who loves to encourage moms in the season of raising children, making a home, and staying focused on the end goals of motherhood. I am the mom of four, including a set of twins. I am also a military wife, writer and “professional” playdate planner. We have to meet mom friends somehow, right?!

I studied early childhood education and teaching in college, so I was able to study a lot about child psychology, family dynamics and what research shows about those two factors in the life of children. I decided to channel that background and the feeling like I could really help moms who were just trying to survive at home caring for their families.

The stay at home mom survival guide is my little ministry. It is a resource for mothers, parents, caregivers and teachers.

It was starting to become a noticeably chronic problem for both of my girls. One of my daughter's could not fall asleep at night and the other was waking up in the middle of the night.   After sharing that there were indeed two babies in my pregnant belly, I was offered advice about how to manage twins plus the two I already had at home. I was asked fairly frequently, “Do you think you can handle four kids?” Unwanted or unsolicited advice can be hard to deal with.  ...

When You’ve Reached Your Limit

When You’ve Reached Your Limit

I just wanted a break. I had been up since 2AM. My toddler did not need sleep-apparently. My wake-up call for the day happened at a time when during my college years I would just have been going to bed. I reached my limit as a mom. Ah, but this is adulthood. Adulthood with two kids, a...

Ultimate Guide Summer at Home with Kids

Ultimate Guide Summer at Home with Kids

My plan for every summer at home with kids is a balance of free time and structured family time. I love that my kids can "be kids." They get wide windows of time to play with friends, ride their bikes, play outside and choose their fun. I also know that day after day of no structure makes for some...

Simple Kitchen Sensory Play for Babies

Scanning videos on my phone, I came across one of the twins playing in our sensory table. It was 3 homes ago but I still remember the afternoon like it was yesterday. My babies played in the sensory table regularly. It was an almost daily occurrence when the weather was warm. I always set up...

DIY Toy People

DIY Toy People with Blocks I noticed that my son did not have a lot of little toy people to play with while he was pretending one day. We have a few cylinder blocks in a set. We never use them when we build. I thought we could turn them into little DIY toy people. They were so cute and easy to...

Teach Kids How to Make Friends

Teach Kids How to Make Friends

Two lessons all children need to learn are how to make friends and how to navigate through the challenges of friendships. As parents we all want to teach kids how to make friends. Often our children learn hard lessons when they have to move to a new state or school. My kids have become all too...

Homeschool Success: Flexible Routine Works Best

The kids were stressed.  I was stressed. Our first semester of homeschool was tough. I could see the positives but those positives were getting drowned lack of flexibility and little depth of learning. To achieve homeschool success a flexible routine works best. What I have learned in 5 years...
