This flour sensory play for toddlers will be an easy go-to sensory activities for toddlers when you need to keep your child playing when you can be right there watching.
To set up this flour sensory activity, first place two cups of flour into a baking sheet. Spread the flour around and then bake it in the oven.
Tips are here for preparation. This helps you be sure that the flour is sanitary before baby plays with it.
Then, take the flour out of the oven and let it cool completely. When the flour is completely cool, carefully pour it or scoop it from the tray into a bowl.
From here, decide where your little one will play. If you have a small toddler activity table, you can put a tray and a scoop on the table with a cup of flour. We just poured a bit of the flour into the table top.
Another idea is to pour the flour into the high chair tray. Baby sits safely strapped into the chair, and you can watch them while they touch and feel the flour.
Add in small spoons, scoops or cups for even more scooping and pouring practice.
My toddlers played with this for an hour. Because it was a dry sensory bin, it was easy to vacuum up any mess. I like this oats and salt sensory bin too for that reason. It gives variety of textures but it cleans up really easily too.
