As a preschooler starts to recognize the alphabet letters, it can be a fun challenge to create a letter seek and find. This activity uses paint daubers – or bingo markers – or you can use Qtips dipped in paint like with our letter writing with Qtips activity. To create this seek and find for learning letters, all you need is 3 supplies. Let’s dive in to how I did this with my twin preschoolers.

Alphabet letter seek and find for preschool

I started by gathering my supplies. Then, I picked a focus letter to write on the paper.

At the top of the paper I wrote the upper case and lower case letter that we were focusing on. Then I write random ‘B’s and ‘b’s on the paper. In the gaps, I added other letters so the page was almost filled up but you could easily read each letter.

My preschoolers were already able to identify the alphabet fairly well, so this was more about the eye hand coordination, one to one correspondence of marking the letters and helping them find both the upper and lower case versions of the letters as you will see.

Identifying upper and lower case letters

Our page here focuses on upper and lower case ‘b’. You can make a letter seek and find page for every alphabet letter as part of the free preschool curriculum plan for your week.

After the page was ready, I told my preschooler that they could use the daubers to mark all the ‘b’s they see on the paper. They could look at the focus letters to remind themselves what letters to mark.

I was near them while they completed this, so I could help if they needed it. It is fun with twins to see how they each approach the same activity and do it just a bit differently.

If you don’t have paint daubers you can use Qwik Stix erasable paint crayons, or the paint and Qtip idea I mentioned at the beginning of this article.

You can see we had fun with this! My twins asked to do more, so we made it through letter seek and find papers for a few more letters before moving on to another activity.
