Unique Holiday Family Vacations

Unique family vacations for the holiday season.

This year we are not entertaining for the holidays. It will be just the 6 of us. A simple Christmas all our own is on the agenda. I have been looking into holiday family vacations. We are making plans for a little family trip over the holidays.

(This is post is sponsored by Beaches. All opinions are my own. Please view my disclosure.)

5 Holiday Family Vacations

I put together my list of favorite holiday family vacations. I hope it can help you in case you are looking for inspiration too!

Holiday family travel ideas.

Camping

We recently purchased a travel trailer. The idea of taking our own personal hotel room with us, and not paying a pet fee for our dog, were our prime reasons for choosing to purchase a trailer. Camping for the holidays can be a fun family getaway.

Travel to a warmer part of the country. Make it a family reunion or destination event.

We traveled to the Historic Triangle of Virginia on our first trip with the trailer. My kids were able to experience so much US history, museums and the beach!

It was a great trip because every night we went home to our “home” and not a hotel. There are many campgrounds that have trailer spaces and cabins available so you can even have multiple families join together for a fun trip together.

Hawaii

My first visit to Hawaii was over a Thanksgiving holiday. Our hotel resort was wonderful! Breakfast buffet every morning, proximity of the beach and pool, and large suites made it comfortable.

Kids have so much fun in Hawaii. From learning to snorkel in the coral reefs, driving the road to Hana and seeing the gorgeous rainforest waterfalls, and of course the beach!

Every day is beautiful in Hawaii. It is a great break from cold weather so it is included as one of my favorite holiday family vacations.

Beaches is a fun family holiday vacation destination.

Beaches Vacations

More beach fun for the holidays can be found on a Beaches family vacation. Traveling with family is so easy at Beaches! Events for the kids, family suites, and beautiful locations are what I look forward to most.

Check out the vacation destinations. There are even waterparks! How fun is that for a family activity during the holidays?!

Whether you are looking most forward to the kids’ camps, gourmet dining, entertainment or outdoor sports, Beaches Vacations are filled with family fun.

Frankenmuth, MI and Bronner's are fun family destinations for holiday travel.

Frankenmuth, MI and Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland

This may be a local hidden attraction, but it is a must-do for the holidays. As a child I went to Frankenmuth while growing up in Michigan. We drove up every Thanksgiving weekend.

If you want a quaint, holiday, small town experience, visit Frankenmuth. It is like a little Bavaria.

Bronner's Christmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth Michigan counts as a unique holiday family vacation destination.

One of the highlights is Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland. This store is huge and filled from top to bottom with all things Christmas! It is an event just to walk though Bronner’s.

I highly recommend a visit. The Christmas spirit can not be ignored here. It is so much fun!

Christmas Town, Williamsburg

A recent fun event I learned about is Christmas Town at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia. For a set of select dates from November through early January, you can walk through a mini world tour at Christmastime.

Different countries are represented with special attractions. It is a unique way to experience Christmas across the globe all in one place.

Many rides are open for kids of all ages – and adults too. With single day passes, multi-day pass options, and military discounts, Christmas Town at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg accommodates all families. It is a Christmas dream land!

Holiday Vacations for Families

Whether you are looking for a beach vacation destination or to soak in all that the cool, snowy days offer, this list of holiday getaways for families gives you some unique options. All are great for families with children.

Children of all ages can enjoy the events and attractions. Building family memories for years to come is the best gift we experience each Christmas.

Where are you traveling this holiday season? Any destinations you recommend as great holiday getaways for families?
