How Busy Parents Can Support Their Child's School-Tyson Project A+ makes it easy to donate money to your child's school with purchases you make anyway.

I usually help my son with his homework right after school. If the twins are hungry, they get cranky and clingy. Trying to help two toddlers does not allow me to devote my attention to my oldest when he has questions about his school work. Serving a protein-packed after school snack has been our solution to give me more one-on-one time to focus on my oldest during his homework time.

As a quick after school snack idea, I shared with youthat I have been serving Tyson® Any’tizers® that I picked up at WalMart as a quick afterschool snack to help my children make it to dinner time with less tantrums. It really is a way to keep the house a bit calmer during that dinner prep time when the kids get hungry but dinner is not ready yet.

Tyson® Any’tizers® snacks are delicious, all-white meat chicken, and Tyson® has a program that helps us earn cash for our school. As a parent, I want to find ways to support and be involved in my son’s school, but having younger children at home too means I am not always free to volunteer in the classroom each week. The Tyson Project A+™ program helps parents help their child’s school.

Our School

I am particularly impressed by how my son’s teachers are incorporating technology into their classrooms. Children need to be prepared for the high-tech world we live in, and good educators learn so they can teach in effective ways. Our school uses tablets to help children engage with technology in developmentally appropriate ways. My son wrote a book and completed quite a few partner projects all in first grade!

It is amazing how much children really can learn when they have effective teachers, involved parents and a great school staff. It is easy to jump on board to support your local school through the Tyson Project A+™ program. You can search for your child’s school. If you do not find it, nominate your school like I nominated our school.

Learning and the Budget

As a former teacher myself, I know first-hand how creativity in the classroom can be challenged by budget restrictions. A school district following a budget is important.

I could not always purchase supplies I needed for my students. Programs like the Tyson Project A+™ program are ways for parents and community members to help give back to their neighborhood school by making purchases we would already-like after school snacks for our kids. You can help your child’s school earn a bit more to put towards programs and supplies without burdening the district budget.

Tyson Project A+™ program

We nominated my son’s school to participate in the Tyson Project A+™ program. We collect the labels from participating Tyson® packaging. Our school can then cash in the labels to use on whatever they want-including more tablets so that all students can utilize this technology in their classrooms.

We have a great school and are so happy with our son’s teachers. He attended for first grade and is now in second grade. Our teachers are well-prepared, creative, and care so much about the students in their classrooms.

When we parents participate in our child’s schools, our children and communities benefit. Parental involvement is an important asset to student success and I know we all want to be the very best parents we can for our children.

Get involved! Maybe you can’t attend PTA meetings. I know I can’t make it to many school events since I have my 3 other children home with me, so contributing in creative ways like through Tyson Project A+™ is an accessible way to be a part of your child’s school no matter your schedule. What a great option for all parents!
