Hey there!

My name is Jaimi, and I am a mom who loves to encourage moms in the season of raising children, making a home, and staying focused on the end goals of motherhood. I am the mom of four, including a set of twins. I am also a military wife, writer and “professional” playdate planner. We have to meet mom friends somehow, right?!

I studied early childhood education and teaching in college, so I was able to study a lot about child psychology, family dynamics and what research shows about those two factors in the life of children. I decided to channel that background and the feeling like I could really help moms who were just trying to survive at home caring for their families.

The stay at home mom survival guide is my little ministry. It is a resource for mothers, parents, caregivers and teachers.

Camp-In Indoor Camping Activity for Kids

A Mother’s Best Asset

A Mother’s Best Asset

When we were children, we all observed our parents parenting so we had time to learn about parents and children before we thought about having our own. I thought about all of these experiences and they helped me form the ‘what would I do if that were my kid’ philosophy....

As the Mother of A Son

As the Mother of A Son

Considering my role as the mother of a son, every day I set an example. I am not only sharing with him how he is loved. When my sons see my interactions with my husband, I am defining an example of a wife.  I got to thinking…   Why is it that when women get together, we often...

What I Will Not Teach My Daughter

When I found out 'child number two' was going to be a girl, I felt a large burden on my shoulders when it came to my responsibility for raising a WOMAN. I evaluated a lot about myself and how I approached life and relationships. Turns out there were a lot of lessons I decided...

Homemade Summer Fun with Kids

My children are ‘outdoor kids’, large motor machines. They need to get outside in order to keep their spirits in balance-I need that too. Thankfully summer fun with kids provides a multitude of outdoor time for fun-and learning. Having children in multiple age groups allows me the...

Make Your Own Bean Bags

I have been wanting to buy my children bean bags for a while and never got to it. DIY bean bags turned out to fit my budget and they were pretty easy to make.   I have a CD of bean bag toss songs that teach following directions that I used with my own preschool classes when I...
