Right after Christmas, I become extremely nostalgic over the past year. I reflect on the adventures we had, the memories we made, and the hard times we pushed through. Like millions of people across the world I begin to set my new year’s resolutions for the year ahead.
Do you take time to set new year’s resolutions or goals for the new year?
Keeping goals simple and measurable helps us achieve the life changes we are seeking without veering away from our plan.
My goal for 2016 was to make it “The Year of My Husband.” My husband is my sounding board, my rock, and the person who can pull my sometimes unrealistic head out of the clouds.
Because I have such a social personality I tend to overbook our life on the weekends. I think I did pretty well letting my husband plan more of our family outings and we all enjoyed a bit more spontaneity on the weekends.
One of my goals for 2017 is to continue to be more relaxed and just go with the flow.
Another big goal for 2017, like so many of you out there, is to focus on my health and nutrition. In particular I want to become physically stronger and build lean muscle.
I tore my meniscus back in February of 2016 and didn’t have surgery on it until November. I am still healthy, but not as fit as I used to be. Life as a mom sometimes leaves little time for us to fit in the time we need to care for ourselves, but I want to get back on track with my health goals this year.
In 2017, I am going to be more focused with my exercise routine. Is that one of your goals too?
I think we can help each other.
