We had busy bags in our house before I knew what a busy bag even was! I always called them activity bags with my kids. Most of the kids activities I have shared can easily be stored as busy bags. This ABC Letter Matching Busy Bag is a great addition to preschool at home, or even a fun game when in a restaurant.

I created it with a free download ABC chart I found simply doing a Google search. Print off two copies, cut out the individual letters from one, and laminate it all for durability. In a few easy steps you have an ABC Letter Matching Busy Bag that will last throughout the preschool years, and even longer.

I have shared with you before how we store our learning games or learning activities. Things are pretty simple around here. I don’t spend tons of money on storage. We use what we have.

The ABC Letter Matching Busy Bag can easily be stored in a fabric or plastic zip top bag. Busy bags are wonderful when you have a new baby and need simple activities to keep the older child entertained while you nurse or rock your youngest one.

ABC Letter Matching Busy Bag

Supplies:

2 printouts of any ABC chart you find online.
Scissors
Scissors(optional)
Zip top bag

How to make it:

Print out two copies of the ABC letter chart.

Cut out one ABC chart so all the letters are together like a game board. Then cut out each individual letter from the other ABC chart.

Laminate the individual letters and chart for durability if you choose.

I have this laminator and love it! It makes my work creating activities worth it because we can use the activities over and over again.

Lay out the activity game board and letters. Ask your child to match each letter to where it goes on the board.

Younger preschool kids will need some guidance. I start by singing the alphabet song through once while I point to each letter. Then we go through one letter at a time to seek the match.

This ABC letters matching busy bag activity for preschool is practically free to make when you already have paper, a printer and scissors at home.

The twins had fun playing together during one of our morning activity times while the big kids were working on their school work.

We don’t often get through multiple games in a row with these two. This one game took all their focus, and then they wanted to sit and read books, and play with cars.

Every preschooler is different, so the time they can spend on a focused activity will vary.

If you do not want to print out the ABC chart, you can make one by simply taking two pieces of construction paper. Write the ABC letters on both, and cut out the individual letters from one piece of paper.
